The UL Lafayette Insurance/Risk Management program is honored to have been selected for the nineteenth (19th) time to be a host university for the Risk Manager in Residence program sponsored by the Spencer Educational Foundation arm of the Risk Management & Insurance Society (RIMS), the primary professional trade association of national/multinational corporate and public risk executives in the world.
** Cotton Holdings is a global company providing disaster recovery services, construction, roofing, logistics, culinary services, workforce staffing, and environmental and health safety services to public and private entities worldwide.  Lance is an internationally recognized authority on insurance, risk management, crisis management and risk financing, among many other topics.
** Mr. Ewing has been with Cotton since 2016.  Prior to his current post, Mr. Ewing was the Real Estate & Hospitality Industry Practice Group Leader at American International Group (AIG, with a portfolio $1.4B GWP), and served in senior risk management capacities for Caesars/Harrah’s Entertainment (Las Vegas) and GES Exposition Services/VIAD.  Lance holds a Masters degree in Law and Justice from the University of Pittsburgh, and a second Masters in Occupational Safety Engineering.  He has traveled and spoken extensively on enterprise risk management, claims, disaster recovery, and risk financing – and promoted risk/insurance education in China, the Philippines, Japan, Croatia, Romania, Kosovo, Uruguay, Spain, Portugal, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Bermuda, Italy, India, and the United Kingdom.  Lance frequently serves as an instructor in the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) programs of the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research.  Among numerous international accolades, Lance notably served as the President of RIMS (2003-04), was named “Risk Manager of the Year” (2007) by Business Insurance, was the Globe Street 2014-15 Real Estate Insurance Leader and 2008 Risk Innovator of the Year, and was 2017 Keynote Speaker at the Claims and Litigation Management (CLM) Alliance summit on “Standard Operating Procedures for Indemnity Claims Management in Retail, Restaurant and Hospitality Litigation.”
