Get Your HVAC Ready for Summer

Jordan Steib • Apr 25, 2023

Spring is springing! With those warmer days right around the corner, summer will be here before you know it! Few people think of their HVAC system when they hear “Spring Cleaning.” However, with good HVAC maintenance, you will have the peace of mind knowing that your indoor air is clean, comfortable, and safe.

The first thing you want to check is your HVAC system’s filter. If you have a disposable filter, it is important to replace your air filter at least once a month. Other types of filters should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to keep things running smoothly.

Next, you should head outside to examine your HVAC unit. A good rule of thumb is to have at least two feet of clear space surrounding the unit. If it has piled leaves, branches, or other debris around the unit, it should be removed and cleared away. You also do not want to grow any bushes or shrubbery surrounding it.

Afterward, head back inside to inspect your HVAC system’s vents. Go through room by room and clear out any dust that has built up on the vents. You should also wipe them down with a warm damp rag and spray disinfectant. Additionally, you should ensure the vents are wide open in the rooms that you want to have air conditioning in, and fully closed in the rooms you do not.

Another option this Spring is to consider upgrades! Before the sweltering heat of the summer causes everyone to scramble to get on someone’s list for HVAC upgrades, be proactive and call now before the first heat wave! If you want to thoroughly clean your ducts and system, call the professionals at Guarantee Restoration Services. Guarantee is available 24/7, which is not just a number, it’s a GUARANTEE!
