Founded by Charles “Chunky” and Ellen Folks in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, GRS started with a deep commitment to excellence, honesty, and doing the right thing—even when no one was looking.

What started as a local carpet cleaning operation quickly evolved into a full-service restoration company. The Folks' work ethic and belief in taking care of people first—team members, clients, and community alike—set the foundation for what GRS would become: a trusted name in disaster recovery across the Gulf Coast.

When Chunky and Ellen's son, Shawn Folks, stepped into leadership, he carried that legacy forward while embracing innovation and growth. Under Shawn’s guidance, GRS expanded into multiple locations, offering 24/7 emergency response and a full suite of restoration services—including water, fire, mold, storm, and biohazard recovery. Through major events like the Flood of 2016, Hurricane Laura, and Hurricane Ida, GRS stood strong, serving schools, hospitals, businesses, and families with compassion and grit.
