This month, we’re proud to feature Brian McCaughan, Mitigation Manager at our Gulfport Branch. With more than two decades of industry experience and a strong belief in teamwork, Brian continues to lead by example both in and out of the field.

From Montgomery to the Mississippi Gulf Coast

Born in Montgomery, Brian moved to Gulfport with his family at just one year old and has proudly called the Mississippi Gulf Coast home ever since. Growing up in the area helped shape the strong work ethic and appreciation for community that continue to guide him today.

Building a Foundation in HVAC and Refrigeration

After high school, Brian attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he studied HVAC and Refrigeration. That technical background would later become a valuable asset throughout his long career in maintenance and restoration.

More Than Two Decades in the Apartment Industry

Before joining Guarantee Restoration Services, Brian spent 22 years in the apartment industry as a Regional Maintenance Supervisor. Those years provided extensive experience in property maintenance, leadership, and problem-solving while also giving him a deep understanding of the importance of responding quickly and effectively when challenges arise.

Growing Through the Ranks at GRS

Brian joined Guarantee Restoration Services on September 28, 2020, beginning his journey as a Technician. Through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to teamwork, he eventually advanced into the position of Lead Technician and again to his current role of Mitigation Manager.

One of the things Brian values most about GRS is the ability to accomplish goals together as a team.

“There are no limits to what we can accomplish when we work together as a team.”

A Core Value Rooted in Partnership

Of all the GRS core values, Partnership resonates the most with Brian.

For him, success is about working alongside others to achieve a common goal and recognizing that no accomplishment happens alone.

“Partnership resonates with me because I truly enjoy working alongside a team to achieve a common goal. There’s nothing better than reaching success and being able to say ‘we did it’—knowing it wouldn’t have been possible without the team around me.”

Advice for New Team Members

When asked what advice he would give to a new GRS team member, Brian shared a simple but meaningful reminder:

“Never give up on a goal you set for yourself—you never know what opportunities may come from staying committed.”

That mindset has clearly played a major role throughout his career and personal growth.

Life Outside of Work

Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending quality time with his wife, four daughters and five grandchildren. Family is a major part of his life, and he values every opportunity to make memories with them. When he has time to relax, you can also find him out enjoying a ride on his Harley.

A Childhood Dream of Becoming a Motorcycle Cop

As a kid, Brian dreamed of becoming a motorcycle cop. While his career path ultimately led him into the restoration industry, the same sense of dedication, discipline, and responsibility still shines through in the work he does today.
