Family Day Tradition Continues At Guarantee Restoration Services

Christina Mullins • November 18, 2020

As we have reiterated in many of our recent blogs, this year has been difficult in so many ways. First, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the entire world in some way, shape or form. This hurricane season has also been one for the record books. In spite of these difficult circumstances, our team at Guarantee Restoration Services has continued to pivot our services as necessary and grow our business. Each year, we host a big crawfish boil for our team, but were not able to have one this year. Fortunately, we were able to pull off our annual family day. The event took place on Saturday, November 14th at Parc 73 Reception & Conference Center in Prairieville. We had a tremendous turnout at our “carnival!” It truly was a beautiful Fall day in South Louisiana.

“My family and I are so gracious for each and every member of our team. Family day is just a small way to say thank you for the resiliency that they have shown time and time again throughout this year,” said Shawn Folks, CEO of GRS

BEHIND THE SCENES AT GRS FAMILY DAY 2020

FAMILY DAY: THE MENU

Like any great party, we enjoyed a tasty menu planned by our human resources department. The buffet featured pulled pork and smoked beef brisket, as well as three delicious sides of potato salad, baked beans and macaroni and cheese. Of course, this barbecue menu could not be complete without grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, along with all the “fixings” and condiments. For a sweet treat, there were freshly-baked assorted cookies. In addition, on the outside patio, there was carnival favorite treats of popcorn and cotton candy!

FAMILY DAY: THE FUN

At the entrance table, guests were welcomed with an awesome balloon arch that led the way to the fun! Across the Parc 73 front property, there were inflatables and games set-up for our team and their families to enjoy. These included a giant foosball table and dart board, oversized Jenga game, assorted sports games, “axe” throwing, a “Wild Wild West” shootout, and many others.

FAMILY DAY: THE MAGIC

A carnival is not complete without a magician! We were lucky to have the talents of Craig Boudreaux of Dutchtown with us for the afternoon. Attendees watched a magic show, where even the adults were flabbergasted with amazement. Following the magic show, Boudreaux created balloon animals and figurines for the kids until the event came to an end.

FAMILY DAY: THE PRIZES

Upon arrival to family day, our team members were issued a raffle tickets for a chance to win one of 15 prizes. Guests were also able to guess how many lollipops were in a jar. Throughout the afternoon, our Director of Human Resources & Safety, Marcie Richardson announced numbers. Our team members punched through a number on a board to get a piece of paper with their prize listed on it. The prizes included two TVs, an air fryer, a drill set, a freestyle rocking chair, a turkey fryer, miscellaneous gift cards and more.

Ahh, October. It’s hard to fathom that we’re already on the brink of Halloween — and then, you know how the rest of the year goes. Before long, we’ll be preparing for our last full company meeting, Family Day, and our Thanksmas celebrations. The end of 2025 will be here before we know it! That being said — no matter what the busy season brings — when it comes to property damage emergencies, our team is always there for you. Meet the Team | Whitney Hampton Every month, I have the opportunity to showcase one of our awesome team members. For October, we are excited to introduce you to Whitney Hampton , one of our Gulfport Business Development Representatives. Gulf Coast Roots & Family Life Whitney was born and raised in New Orleans but has split her time between Louisiana and Mississippi throughout her life. She later moved to Gulfport, where she graduated from high school. As a young adult, she lived in Bossier City, LA. Now, she is back on the coast in Biloxi, where she raises her two children, Kohen and Kobi, with her husband. Education & Professional Background Whitney graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Marketing — SMTTT! This December, she’ll be finishing her master’s in marketing with a specialization in Digital Strategy. Before joining our team in December 2023, she worked in property management. Whitney started in leasing, then was promoted to Community Manager, where she received the Best Marketing Award in 2023 . Life Outside of Work Personally, when she is not working, Whitney is usually busy with “The Adventures of Kohen and Kobi.” They love spending their weekends exploring new places, such as the science museum, zoo, or splash pad. Staying active and making fun memories together is what she enjoys most. Sports are a big part of the Hampton household. They are big Philadelphia Eagles fans — GO BIRDS! They also love the Florida Gators and have attended many games in Gainesville. Saturdays and Sundays are definitely football days in their house.
