Restoration Services After Winter Weather: Safeguarding Hospitals, Clinics, and Doctor’s Offices

Adrianne Hungerford • February 19, 2025

When ice storms and winter weather come through, hospitals and healthcare facilities find themselves at the mercy of nature's elements. The aftermath of severe weather poses not only the challenge of structural damage but also the heightened risk of infectious diseases spreading. These properties are critical in providing care and must remain operational. Restoration experts can be of critical service in these situations.

The Critical Role of Healthcare Restoration Services

When cold weather and ice occur, structural restoration to any damage is important, but it can pose an elevated risk of infectious diseases spreading. Containing the restoration process by preventing dust and debris from infiltrating the air circulation systems is imperative. In immunocompromised patients, exposure to these contaminants could lead to fatal secondary infections.

The Importance of Infection Control in Healthcare Facilities

Maintaining infection control standards during repairs and restoration is crucial. Technicians working in healthcare facilities should undergo Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) training to ensure they understand the protocols necessary to prevent the spread of diseases.

The Simple Telescopic Airtight Reusable Containment Wall System

Recognizing the need for advanced containment solutions, Guarantee Restoration utilizes the Simple Telescopic Airtight Reusable Containment (STARC) wall system. This cutting-edge technology offers a temporary, negative pressure containment that is ideal for healthcare restoration projects. Widely used across the United States in hospital restoration, the STARC system plays a pivotal role in safeguarding patients and staff.

The STARC Advantage for Healthcare Restoration

The STARC system provides airtight containment, ensuring that construction can be done without the risk of contaminants escaping into critical areas of the facility. This is particularly crucial when thorough disinfection and decontamination processes are essential for a hospital to resume full operations.

At Guarantee Restoration Services, we prioritize infection control to keep healthcare facilities operational after major storms, and other events. Our team is equipped with the proper training, utilizing the STARC Wall System to create secure containment during restoration projects. With a focus on safe and effective cleaning and decontamination processes, we offer a comprehensive solution to ensure the well-being of patients and the continued functionality of healthcare facilities.
