Meet The Team | André Wise

Christina Mullins • August 9, 2023

Our Meet the Team spotlight is back for August! The busiest time of hurricane season is upon us. Whenever a disaster occurs, our team is ready to respond, restore and reoccupy.

This month, we introduce you to André Wise, who is a Project Manager at our Jackson, Mississippi branch.

André was born and raised in the small town of Pickens, Mississippi. Following his graduation from Savannah High School in Georgia, he went into the workforce. For more than 13 years, he served in various maintenance roles, including gas turbine. Before joining the GRS family in February 2023, he worked as a maintenance technician at a facility that made food-grade plastic.

Personally, when he is not at work, you can catch him at the gym! He is also an uncle. André explained that his nephews have vast imaginations, so they slay werewolves, defeat Thanos, etc. He is diehard fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, which is largely in part to the late and great Kobe Bryant. He said he also loves the New Orleans Saints and Chicago White Sox. Lastly, he said that if something peaks his interest, he will binge watch TV shows as well.

Additionally, I asked André what he wanted to be when he grew up. He stated, “When I was a kid, from ages 5-7, I wanted to be the Red Ranger. From 8-12, I wanted to be Indiana Jones, aka "Mississippi Dré."

While I was writing this blog, I asked him what he enjoys about working for Guarantee Restoration Services. He said, “The temperature of GRS is unlike any work environment I’ve been in prior to this one. It’s very positive and upbeat!”

Finally, he gave some advice to both our team members and leaders. He responded, “For fellow employees, give the maximum effort with everything you do. Eventually, it will become second nature. That way, if and when you get your dream career, car, life etc., you will be used to giving max effort to maintain it. As far as the leaders go, this is tough to answer, because I feel I should be asking for advice. They have already gotten to level that I’m still striving to reach!”

Come Join Our Growing Team!

GRS is hiring at all of our branches. We have three Louisiana locations in Lafayette, Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Our two locations in Mississippi are in Jackson and Gulfport. Ahh, October. It’s hard to fathom that we’re already on the brink of Halloween — and then, you know how the rest of the year goes. Before long, we’ll be preparing for our last full company meeting, Family Day, and our Thanksmas celebrations. The end of 2025 will be here before we know it! That being said — no matter what the busy season brings — when it comes to property damage emergencies, our team is always there for you. Meet the Team | Whitney Hampton Every month, I have the opportunity to showcase one of our awesome team members. For October, we are excited to introduce you to Whitney Hampton , one of our Gulfport Business Development Representatives. Gulf Coast Roots & Family Life Whitney was born and raised in New Orleans but has split her time between Louisiana and Mississippi throughout her life. She later moved to Gulfport, where she graduated from high school. As a young adult, she lived in Bossier City, LA. Now, she is back on the coast in Biloxi, where she raises her two children, Kohen and Kobi, with her husband. Education & Professional Background Whitney graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Marketing — SMTTT! This December, she’ll be finishing her master’s in marketing with a specialization in Digital Strategy. Before joining our team in December 2023, she worked in property management. Whitney started in leasing, then was promoted to Community Manager, where she received the Best Marketing Award in 2023 . Life Outside of Work Personally, when she is not working, Whitney is usually busy with “The Adventures of Kohen and Kobi.” They love spending their weekends exploring new places, such as the science museum, zoo, or splash pad. Staying active and making fun memories together is what she enjoys most. Sports are a big part of the Hampton household. They are big Philadelphia Eagles fans — GO BIRDS! They also love the Florida Gators and have attended many games in Gainesville. Saturdays and Sundays are definitely football days in their house.
